A surprise proposal in St. Petersburg is always a good idea, but especially on a sailboat. Kendall connected with Sailing Satori and chartered a sailboat to propose to McKenzie. The whole trip was two hours long and she had no clue what was in store on their two-hour tour. It started like any other trip, of course, with stunning views of downtown St. Pete. But then Nick, the sailboat captain, opened up the sail to reveal a HUGE surprise for McKenzie.
You have got to see McKenzie’s reaction to the “Will you marry me?” written on the sail of the sailboat. Kendall got down on one knee and asked her officially to marry him and, duh, she said YES! You could feel the electricity and excitement in the air as this all went down. It was truly such an incredible moment for Kendall and McKenzie.
Since, they came all the way from Alabama, this was a perfect way to end their trip to Florida. It’s something they’ll remember for the rest of their lives and it was truly the most magical day. At the end of it all, they shared an adorable little picnic on the boat with chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne as we finished the boat tour.
Surprise proposals are always so exciting because it adds such a big touch of fun to the day. As a Tampa wedding photographer, I’ve had the privilege of photographing many proposals, including one recently at Bok Tower Gardens. Because each one is unique and has different surprise elements, it really keeps me on my toes!
This surprise proposal in St. Petersburg really will go down in the record books as one of the coolest sessions. It’s hard to top such a perfect day, but I’m sure Kendall and McKenzie’s wedding will be able to do just that. Congratulations to the happy couple!
